Congrats to Connor Franta!
The 23-year-old YouTube star was just recruited by The Recording Academy as an Associate Member, and will be their official Twitter correspondent on the night of the 2016 Grammys, along with Megan Nicole, Sam Tsui, Max Schneider and Diamond White.
“Once I heard they wanted me to be part of the academy, I was just blown away,” Connor told Forbes. “It’s great for me being part of the YouTube community because it’s a new realm we really haven’t gotten into — it’s a whole social age and this will let our voice be heard for the Grammys.”
He added, “It’s an honor. It’s definitely the way of the future, and I’m just one of the first of many. It’s a total honor to be the first, and I’m definitely going to use the platform well and do the Internet justice.”
