Laura Marano Joins TLC's Say Yes To The Prom Event; Makes Prom Dreams Come True

Laura Marano gives one student a big hug while helping her choose the perfect prom dress at TLC’s Say Yes To The Prom event held at The Biltmore Hotel on Wednesday afternoon (March 30) in Coral Gables, Fla.

The 20-year-old “Boombox” singer joined Say Yes To the Dress: Atlanta‘s Monte Durham for the special event where they made prom dreams a reality for more than 50 high school girls.

In addition to the full day of mentoring and head-to-toe makeovers, Miami Dade College’s Dr. Rodicio, Provost of Academic and Student Affairs, announced that every qualified participant in the program would receive free tuition to earn an Associate’s Degree at MDC with an American Dream Scholarship.

But that’s not all — each student also received a laptop courtesy of TLC and MDCPS’ Foundation for New Education Initiatives would cover the cost of all participants’ prom tickets.

“Being a part of Say Yes to the Prom was so meaningful to me. I can see how beautiful the girls felt, and some of these girls felt beautiful for the first time ever,” Laura shared afterwards.

She added, “Seeing them try on and be in my Sherri Hill dresses was the best feeling ever. There’s nothing like hearing a girl say that she feels truly beautiful in a dress I helped design. It was an amazing day, really moving. These girls deserve this and even more � they deserve to have their prom and feel like a princess. It was so incredibly special.”
