Nolan Gould throws his paddle up while kayaking in the Castaic Lake Recreation Area this weekend in Castaic, Calif.
The 17-year-old Modern Family star joined students from PUC Community Charter Early College High School as part of the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service.
Hosted by the Sierra Club’s Inspiring Connections Outdoors program, in partnership with California State Parks FamCamp, the outing is one of 100 Sierra Club trips planned for the month of April to mark the centennial.
“I’ve ridden bikes near the Grand Canyon and now I’ve kayaked at this great lake right in L.A.’s backyard,” Nolan said. “There’s just something inspiring about being outside, no matter where you are or how many trips you’ve taken. I encourage everyone to find your park and get outside to enjoy all our public lands have to offer.”
