Emily Osment Doesn't Like Any of the Songs on Her Debut Album
Emily Osment takes over the June 2016 cover of NKD mag.
The 24-year-old Young & Hungry actress opens up with the glossy about not loving anything about her debut album, playing Gabi Diamond and more. Check it:
On Fight or Flight: “I wasn’t writing by myself. I was writing with a bunch of people, and I had a manager who just threw me in the room with 60 different writers and it didn’t really feel as organic as the music I was listening to, like Incubus and Modest Mouse. It was an interesting process. I have a bunch of music that I’m just sitting on, and I’m kind of just taking my time because the first time around I went way too fast and I hate all those songs now. But it was a part of me and that was what I was like at that age.”
On taking a full year off from everything: “I’m very glad I took that year to figure out me, or whatever you want to call that. We [my father and I] this amazing talk. I remember being in Brazil and walking down the beach in Rio de Janeiro about my life and where I was going, and how thankful we were for each other. It was the coolest talk of my life and he’s a very important person in my life.”
On Gabi Diamond: “I think I was just so loopy and out of my mind when I went in there [in the audition room], that I was just so open and ready for anything. I was so loopy that they were like ‘Oh my God, this girl’s a train wreck! This is perfect!’…You play a character long enough, the character sort of becomes a version of you, which is cool. [I know Gabi] like the back of my hand.”
