Christina Grimmie Wins First Teen Choice Award Months After Her Death

In a bittersweet win, Christina Grimmie has won her first surfboard at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards held at The Forum on Sunday (July 31) in Inglewood, Calif.

The 22-year-old singer was awarded the Choice Web Star: Music honor, beating out Boyce Avenue, Chloe X Halle, Cimorelli, MattyBRaps, and Johnny Orlando.

Christina was fatally shot earlier this summer after her concert in Orlando, Fla., by a deranged fan. Her autospy revealed that her death was a homicide.

It was one of Christina‘s dream to win a Teen Choice Award — and we wish she would’ve been here to accept it.
