Fans Shocked as Ukraine's Men's Gymnastics Team Takes Zero in Team Final
The Ukraine’s Men’s Gymnastics Team left fans a little confused during the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics team final on Monday (August 8) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
According to Fox Sports, the country’s team willingly took scores of zero after they sent up Maksym Semiankiv, who just hung onto the high bar and dropped instead of doing a routine.
It didn’t seem he was injured and even if he was, they could have sent another member of the five-person team to compete in his place.
Some people are speculating that they took last place on purpose in order to prepare for the individual finals.
the word we have received is that this was a planned strategy by Ukraine – to not put up all gymnasts in the team final….
