'The Vampire Diaries' Scoop: Stefan is Focused on Saving Damon & Reuniting Him With Elena

We’re still a few weeks away from The Vampire Diaries premiere, but here’s some scoop to hold you over!

Executive producer Julie Plec recently opened up about what we can expect from the Salvatore brothers in season eight.

“Stefan (Paul Wesley) somehow inherently understands that what’s happened to his brother is not Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) fault,” Julie told EW. “Whatever is going on with Damon, he’s under some sort of control or is in some situation that he can’t entirely get out of.”

She continued, “He’s very focused on trying to rescue his brother from this mess, understanding that the fallout of whatever it is that Damon has to do could impact his ability to be reunited with Elena (Nina Dobrev) one day.”

The Vampire Diaries returns on Friday, October 21 @ 8/7c on The CW.
