Sofia Carson Dishes on 'A Cinderella Story' - 'It Was A Dream!'

Who’s ready to watch Sofia Carson in A Cinderella Story: If The Shoe Fits?! We know we are!

JJJ had the chance to talk with Sofia about the movie and she dished on almost everything — from the soundtrack, to filming in Cape Town, South Africa, and even about her Prince Charming, Thomas Law.

“Cape Town was…just a dream!” she told us about where the film was shot at — and how she had two very long flights to get there!

Sofia continues, “When I got the call I had got the part of Tessa, I couldn’t really believe or wrap my head around the fact that I’m going to be a part of this franchise that I wanted to be a part of for so long.”

“Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale…just to be part of that list and the legacy is such an honor,” she adds.

On the film’s story: “I love Cinderella Story so much; and the opportunity to work with Michelle Johnson, who is such an amazing director. She’s a strong female mind and I love that she was a female director. Tessa is a modern day Cinderella and as far as these stories go, she has a horrible, horrible step family. Her stepmom is played by Jennifer Tilly, amazing Oscar nominee, who is absolutely hysterical. She’s made her life absolutely miserable, however, Tessa has this big dream of being a performer, a singer, to be on big stages. That is her fairy tale.”

On the moral of the story: “It isn’t falling in love with Prince Charming and having him her save her. She makes her own happily ever after come true and she chases after her dreams. It’s a story of girl power. Romance is a part of it and she meets this Prince, who is great, but the moral of the story is about this girl who follows her dreams and makes them come true.”

On working with Thomas: “Thomas and I met the day that we both arrived in Cape Town. I traveled almost two days to get there and it’s the most magical city in the world. We went right into rehearsals and it was great to work with him. He’s had a really incredible career…working on EastEnders and working with Pierce Brosnan on At World’s End. He’s also theatrically trained.”

On the love story: “I love Tessa and Reed’s story. I love how even though they come from such different worlds they see each other like no one else has before. I love that. It was great to work with him.”
