Harry Potter's Bonnie Wright Wants To Ditch The Gender Term Before Director
We all know Bonnie Wright from the Harry Potter film franchise.
However, many still don’t know her as a director — a brilliant one at that.
“I feel like the minute I really got into my directing work, it became a personal journey,” Bonnie shares in a recent interview. “It’s something I do for myself. Of course I want it to become a career – and bigger than that. But for a long time, since I graduated, it’s been very personal.”
When chatting about the discrimination over female directors in Hollywood, Bonnie wants to ditch all gender terms before a job title.
“I want to make sure we get to the point where your gender doesn’t have to come before your job title. It shouldn’t be a ‘female director’ it should just be a ‘director’,” Bonnie says.
She adds, “It should transcend gender, race, time and language – all those things.”
Bonnie is also pictured arriving at LAX airport in Los Angeles on Friday (December 16) below.
