Ed Sheeran Originally Wrote 'Shape of You' for Little Mix! (Video)
Imagine if Ed Sheeran‘s smash hit “Shape of You” was originally performed by Little Mix instead… it almost happened!
The Divide singer and songwriter explained that, when he first wrote the track, he planned on giving it to a few different artists, including Rihanna and Little Mix.
“Do you know what, the actual story is, we started it for Little Mix originally,” he told BeBox. “And then halfway through I was like, ‘Actually this sounds like it could be good for Rihanna.’”
“I didn’t want to keep it,” Ed went on. “I was like, ‘We should give it away, it doesn’t really sound like me.’ And then more of the way through we were like, ‘Yeah, this is actually pretty good. We should keep it.’”
“But this was way before I sunk my teeth into it and put acoustic guitars on it and made it more loop-pedal friendly,” he added.
