Rowan Blanchard & Yara Shahidi Meet Their Activist Hero

Actresses and young activists Rowan Blanchard and Yara Shahidi had a life-changing, magical evening yesterday.

Both of the young women attended the Underground Museum in Los Angeles last night, and both of them posted Instagrams with political activist and author Dr. Angela Davis in which they were positively glowing.

“I am absolutely in shock and beyond grateful to have met Dr. Angela Davis today,” Rowan wrote of her hero. “To merely be in her presence is one of the most gratifying and humbling experiences as an activist, a feminist, and as a person who believes in radical change.” She then fangirled for a bit, admitted she had “never” fangirled before, and ended the post with: “Omg I’m gonna cry again now.”

Yara was feeling grateful as well.

“Thank you to everyone who made today powerful and thank you to my Grandfather for introducing me to the power and vision of Dr. Davis,” she wrote in her lengthy caption about the evening.
