Nia Sioux's #RoleModelMondays Are Full of Girl Power

Dancer Nia Sioux may be only 15, but she has 4.1 million followers on Instagram — and she doesn’t take them for granted.

The Dance Moms star uses the hashtag #RoleModelMondays to highlight women around the world who inspire her.

This week she highlighted Tiffany Schleigh, the creator and producer of Cabaret for a Cause NYC. “The events she throws…help raise money and awareness for organizations that serve underprivileged kids,” Nia explains.

In the past she has honored everyone from Stephanie Kurlow, the “world’s first Muslim Hijabi ballerina,” to the UConn Women’s Basketball team to a plus-size ballerina who doesn’t let the haters get her down.

Nia started using the hashtag several months ago, and has faithfully added new role models each week. We think it’s incredible that Nia acknowledges these boss women, and her feed is the epitome of girl power (which is never NOT a good thing!!)

Her new single, “Dance (Just Rock)” also has an empowering message for girls; Nia says the song shows that it is “ok for girls to have the freedom to make the first move if they see a boy they like.”
