KJ Apa Reveals There Was An Entirely Different Ending For 'Riverdale's Finale

Wait up just one second — KJ Apa just revealed that the ending for Riverdale‘s first season that we saw, was an alternate ending!

The actor, who plays Archie Andrews in the series, spilled the details last weekend at the MCM Comic-Con in London.

As we all know, Fred (Luke Perry) was shot in the season finale as gunmen came into the diner while Archie washed his hands and he returned in just enough time to see the shot go off.

“We had a completely different ending while we were shooting,” KJ shared. “Only me and Luke got sent the ending the night before we shot that scene.”

He adds, “No one else actually knew about it except for us at that time.”

So, what was the original ending? KJ kind of kept mum on that part, only that it had “something to do with the Blossoms” — obviously.

KJ also previewed what life would be like for Archie in season two.

“I’m really excited to explore a different side of Archie that we haven’t really seen yet, a darker side after Fred gets shot,” he said. “It kinda shakes things up for him for sure. Things start to get pretty gnarly.”

Riverdale season two is set to start filming in late June.
