Callie Still Might Be In Legal Trouble on 'The Fosters'

Throughout the entire season premiere of The Fosters, our hearts were going a mile a minute and rightfully so.

After Callie was rescued by Stef from the sex-trafficking ring, Stef put Callie in her place by telling her she needs to value her own life.

“Callie has a ferocious sense of justice. She’s got strength and power. [But] she doesn’t have any ability to apply her best thinking to herself,” EP Peter Paige told TVLine about Callie’s ongoing story.

Maia Mitchell, who plays the character, told TVGuide that this really is a turning point for her.

“She really realizes that as much as she wants to help people, she often puts herself in really dangerous positions,” she says. “That really affects the people in her life and I think the whole experience really cuts deep for her.”

Maia adds, “She really takes it on and tries to kind of take a different road. It’s all about self-improvement for her this season.”

That’s great that Callie is now on a straighter path, but that doesn’t mean she’s out of legal trouble just yet.

I will just say, as in the real world, justice is not always a straight line, nor always entirely clear-sighted,” Peter says.
