Darci Lynne Farmer Laughs At Her Puppets' Jokes

Darci Lynne Farmer will be back on the America’s Got Talent stage tonight and we can hardly wait to see her perform!

The 12-year-old ventriloquist, who was taught the talent by Miss Louisiana Laryssa Bonacquisti (who will be competing in the Miss America pageant soon), opened up in a recent interview about her puppets — all five of them.

There’s Katie the yodeling cowgirl; Okie, a duck who impersonates Elvis; Edna Doorknocker, a grumpy grandma; Petunia, a bashful bunny who is also a big-voiced Broadway diva; and Oscar, the charming mouse.

“All my other puppets are jealous [of Petunia],” Darci shared before Oscar made his debut on the show. “They all have different personalities, and that’s what I kind of like because they’re all unique.”

“Sometimes when I’m performing, whenever my puppet cracks a joke, it actually makes me laugh,” she revealed.

Darci Lynne knows she’s doing her job when she can make everyone including herself — forget that she’s actually doing all the work.

“One time, it was really funny, I was going on stage and they were like, ‘Oh, we didn’t mic the puppet! Mic the puppet!’ So, that’s how I know that sometimes I do a very good job, because they think that the puppet is actually, like, real.”

America’s Got Talent airs TONIGHT @ 8PM ET/PT on NBC.
