'Austin & Ally's Theme Song Was Written By Best New Artist Grammy Nominee Julia Michaels

We thought that we knew just about everything about Austin & Ally — until now.

Turns out that Julia Michaels actually wrote the title track, “Can’t Do It Without You” with fellow songwriter Joleen Belle when she was only 16!

In an interview from 2015, Julia opened up about writing the track that would ultimately be performed by Ross Lynch and later on, Laura Marano.

“Joleen and I started doing library sync and promo stuff. When I was 16, I would hear my songs on The Hills and promos for The Viewit was awesome,” Julia shared.

She actually found out that the track was chosen as Austin & Ally‘s theme song when she was in math class.
