Nick Jonas Opens Up About Writing 'Home': 'I Thought I Can't Do This'

Nick Jonas almost didn’t write the song that got him nominated for a Golden Globe!

The 25-year-old entertainer recently revealed that he originally struggled to write “Home,” which was featured in animated flick Ferdinand.

“There was a moment where I thought, ‘I can’t do this,’” Nick told Gold Derby.

He added, “So much of my creative process depends on my personal life and just writing about whatever I feel like that day. But with this, each session that I went into to collaborate on the song, I just didn’t feel I was getting it.”

Thankfully, once Nick started to collaborate with with songwriter Justin Tranter, things started to click.

“It wasn’t until I reached that point of frustration and went into a room with Justin Tranter, and we started talking about what home means to us. Home is everything from your family to your loved ones to the place you come from to your favorite food. Home is the place you feel you belong,” Nick concluded.
