Lucy Hale is one of the many celebrities reacting to the untimely and tragic passing of fashion designer Kate Spade.

The 28-year-old actress, who attended the fashion brand’s runway show earlier this year, took to Twitter to emphasize the reality of mental illness and how it can affect anyone.

“Very saddened to hear about the passing of Kate Spade,” Lucy wrote this morning. “Mental illness does not discriminate and can happen to anyone with any circumstances. I hope she has found peace.”
