Zendaya Rumored To Star in 'Running a Thousand Miles for Freedom' Movie Adaption

Zendaya has reportedly signed on for another new movie, based on “Running a Thousand Miles for Freedom: Or, the Escape of William and Ellen Craft from Slavery”.

The film is still in development and there’s no word on just who the 21-year-old actress, who is currently filming the new Spider-Man movie right now, would portray. Signs do point to her playing Ellen Craft though.

The book is set in 1848, where William and Ellen Craft made one of the most daring and remarkable escapes in the history of slavery in America.

With fair-skinned Ellen disguised as a white male planter, and William posing as her servant, the Crafts traveled by rail and ship in plain sight and relative luxury – from bondage in Macon, Georgia, to freedom, first in Philadelphia, then Boston, and ultimately England.
