Amandla Stenberg Talks About The Reaction 'The Hate U Give' Is Getting

Amandla Stenberg is all smiles while arriving for her interview at Live! with Kelly and Ryan on Wednesday morning (October 17) in New York City.

The 19-year-old actor sat down with the hosts to chat about her powerful new film, The Hate U Give, which is out in theaters now.

“It’s been amazing, and really emotional,” they shared about the reaction they’ve seen from young adults. “Especially by black girls who feel represented and validated by it, which is exactly how I felt when I read the book.”

Amandla also opened up about the literal meaning behind her given name and how she embraces it.
