Kiernan Shipka on Taking On Role of Sabrina Spellman: 'This Sabrina is My Sabrina'

Kiernan Shipka is opening up about taking on the role of Sabrina Spellman for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

In a brand new interview with EOnline, the 18-year-old actress revealed that she could start with a clean slate with the character, because she hadn’t seen the OG television series at all.

“I didn’t have a major attachment to the old series because I was a little too young for viewing it,” Kiernan explains. “I was excited to take a crack at something that was iconic and interesting, but have a completely different take on it.”

She adds that “this Sabrina is my Sabrina.”

“I got the role about four months before we started filming and that’s awesome because I had this time to develop what I wanted her to sound like, and be like, and just spend some time in her shoes.”

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina premieres on Friday, October 26th on Netflix.
