Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas Get Henna Tattoos in Photos from Mehendi Ceremony
In the days leading up to their epic wedding, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra had many celebrations… including a Mehendi ceremony!
The newlyweds took to their Instagram accounts after they tied the knot on Saturday (December 1) to share some gorgeous photos from the event.
“One of the most special things our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi,” the couple wrote in a joint statement on Instagram.
A Mehendi ceremony is a Hindu ritual that takes place usually one or two days before a wedding. The friends and families of the bride and groom gather while the bride has henna designs painted on her hands and feet. Nick and Priyanka both had henna designs applied at the colorful event.
“Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed,” they added.
The newlyweds were spotted all over India in the days leading up to the wedding and we have TONS OF PHOTOS right here for you to see!
FYI: Priyanka and Nick are both wearing designs by Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla.
