Lucy Hale Says Her Next Movie 'Fantasy Island' Will Be a 'Darker' Version of the '80s Show

Lucy Hale stops by the grocery store to pick up some goodies for her home in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon (January 2).

The 29-year-old actress just returned from hosting the Central Time Zone celebration of Dick Clark’s Rockin New Year’s Eve from New Orleans.

Recently, Lucy also opened up about the next movie she’ll be working on, Fantasy Island.

The flick, which Lucy starts in January, “is the remake of the ‘80s show Fantasy Island, but will take a darker turn.”

Lucy teases, “It’s a thriller, and we’re filming in a different country, which I’ve never done before, so I’m excited about that. There’ll be a few changes as far as casting. The ‘80s show was, obviously, really fun and lighthearted, whereas this will be a little more edgy and dramatic, and there’ll be some darker turns.”
