On My Block's Jessica Marie Garcia Calls Out The Term 'Skinny Legend'
We actually stan this legend – Jessica Marie Garcia, who called out the online term of “skinny legend”.
The On My Block star, who plays scene stealer Jasmine in the Netflix show, took to social media to call out everyone using the term.
The term, which was originally meant to sing high praises of celebs people looked up to, turned into a harmful one that might send people to starve themselves to be a “skinny legend” themselves.
Some fans say that the term doesn’t have anything to do with weight, instead it’s a “frame of mind”.
Either way, the term is confusing and can be harmful – something Jessica saw and pointed out.
“Ok. π€¦π½ββοΈ this is from a young woman who I love and adore. She posted a pic with a pizza- with this caption,” Jessica shared, blocking out the fan’s name. “I donβt care about this ‘skinny legend’ crap when young girls make ‘jokes’ about not eating. This is dangerous. I donβt care if itβs a joke.”
Preach it, Jessica!

Skinny legend is done. Bye. You can take your weird triggering βcomplimentβ & leave it with all the 2018 crap that I donβt need. Iβm going 2B a well adjusted, healthy, & incredibly happy person in 2019 & I donβt need anybody to tell me thatβs legendary, because I already did!
