Harry Styles Declines Offer To Play Prince Eric In 'The Little Mermaid'

Despite earlier rumors, Harry Styles will NOT be starring in Disney’s The Little Mermaid live action!

The 25-year-old musician was reportedly offered the role in the musical remake opposite Halle Bailey, but turned it down, according to Variety.

Harry would have joined other rumored cast members who have also not officially been announced, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Awkwafina as Scuttle, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.

While no other official casting announcements have been made by Walt Disney Studios, it is likely that more info will be revealed by director Rob Marshall at next weekend’s D23 Expo, which takes place from August 23rd until August 25th in Anaheim, Calif.
