OlderSelena Gomez Launches Rare Impact Fund For 28th Birthday
Selena Gomez is celebrating her birthday in a big way!
The actress, singer and producer turns 28 years old TODAY (July 22).
In honor of her big day, through her Rare Beauty company, Selena is launching the Rare Impact Fund to “help address the gaps in mental health services for underserved communities.”
The new fund is looking to raise $100 million over the next ten years to increase access to mental health resources by “cultivating partnerships with leading foundations, nonprofits organizations, and companies to make a measurable global impact.”
One percent of each Rare Beauty sale has been going into the fund since it’s launch, and will continue.
“The mere fact there are ‘underserved’ communities is a problem,” Selena told Forbes about the fund. “There are people that don’t have proper access to the internet to begin to find help, let alone being able to afford resources or the price of any medications that might be needed. Everyone should have access to proper mental health resources as well as medical care in general.”
