“All Will really wants to do is watch TV, play video games, eat meat, go through his hedonistic routine,” David recently told USA Today about his character. “But there’s an emptiness in that kind of life that is based in a lack of meaning. When this little boy comes along, it’s annoying…but ultimately it’s like carbonating these feelings of what’s really important in life. And loving someone and family are way up there. In a way, this weird family is forming and Will doesn’t even know it.”

Check out Benjamin Stockham in these episode stills from his upcoming new show About a Boy!
The 13-year-old actor stars in the new NBC comedy alongside New Girl‘s David Walton.
Here’s the synposis: Will Freeman (Walton) lives a charmed existence. After writing a hit song, he was granted a life of free time, free love and freedom from financial woes. He’s single, unemployed and loving it.
So imagine his surprise when Fiona (Minnie Driver), a needy single mom and her oddly charming 11-year-old son, Marcus (Stockham), move in next door and disrupt his perfect world.
“I think that people should tune in to About a Boy because it’s going to be a lot of fun to watch,” Benjamin told JJJ. “It will make you laugh and it will also have some tender moments too. Will and Marcus have a lot of fun together and Minnie, David, and Al [Madrigal] are all super funny and really talented! I think that Will, Fiona, and Marcus are all characters that people will love to care about and root for.”

1600 Penn follows The Gilchrists, who are just the average American family dealing with all the everyday issues, like a grown kid who’s forced to move back home, teenagers who are smarter than their teachers and a stepmom (Elfman) desperately trying to win over the kids. They’re loving, fun and a little crazy. In other words, just like everyone else – with one exception: they live in The White House.
