Caroline Kole just dropped her new EP, Freaking Out!, and it’s just so so so good!
The singer, who was discovered by Reba McEntire, opened up about the project with JJJ.
“This EP is performing way better than I ever expected it too,” Caroline dished. “It’s super vulnerable and also sassy…which is exactly who I am! Releasing super honest music is difficult and scary, so to have Freaking Out! embraced with so much love? I’m speechless! And Freaking Out!”

- The EP title FREAKING OUT! came to life when I walked into the writers room with the idea of “I’ve never been good at that, so I’m freaking out,” and I had that realization when I was blow drying my hair the day before the session. I’m a planner, and to not be able to know for sure what my next step is…that’s terrifying for me.
- Orange is the theme of this project because I realized most of the things I love are orange, specifically Cheetos and Orange Theory! You can almost always catch me with Cheetos in my hand or a bag in my car- the original or the puffs ONLY, I can’t handle the flaming hot Cheetos!
- The “na na’s” on “Heart Break Lights” were recorded by a bunch of my friends and I! When we needed “party noise” for the intro, my friend Ryan immediately yells “bro, do a keg stand!”…the producer decided to tuck that all the way in the back, but it’s in there!
- I wrote”Karma” and “Easy” with BRKLYN at their house in Orange County, and before each of the sessions I woke up at 6am and spent the morning at the beach watching the sun rise! Perfect way to start a session in my opinion!
- My cat is the star of the music video and artwork of “Missing Each Other”. His name is Rikki Bobby, he’s a Bengal cat, and you can follow him on Instagram! @rikkibobbythecat
- I consider myself an “indoor cat” because I prefer being inside in the air conditioning. Always. Don’t offer to take me camping or to go outside in the summer or to go hiking, because I won’t go. Ever. No way.
- “Missing Each Other” is one of the most difficult songs for me sing live! Every time I sing it I ask myself why I didn’t make that melody easier on me!
- Impractical jokers is my favorite TV show!
- Dylan Rockoff and I did a cover of “You’re The One That I Want” and we were approached to sing that song for a proposal recently! It was BEAUTIFUL! That was my third time singing for a proposal, and each time I cry.
- I am pretty much always dressed up for occasions or the errands I run on the day to day.
