The star of Disney Pixar’s brand new movie, Coco, Anthony Gonzalez has A LOT in common with his character Miguel — the biggest thing being his love for music.
In fact, when Anthony was only four-years-old he began singing with his family in the historic La Placita Olvera district in Los Angeles, and it was there his love for mariachi was born.
“I just thought to myself, ‘Wow, they’re having so much fun. I want to try that too!’” he shared with People mag. “The first time I stepped on stage and I started singing, I knew that I wanted to do it for the rest of my life.”
He adds, “I just had so much fun singing. I just saw the people smiling and laughing, and I just had so much fun doing it.”
Be sure to listen to Anthony sing on the Coco soundtrack below — and go see the movie, in theaters now!
