Douglas Booth shows off a bit of skin in this new shot from the NextGen issue of VMan magazine.
The 20-year-old British actor opened up about his looks, taking on Shakespeare and his “method” acting. Check it:
On his good looks: “It very quickly isn’t flattering to be known only for the way you look. It’s just uninteresting if that’s all people want to talk about. I don’t necessarily want to hear about my talent or my greatness as an actor. You can say I’m sh-t, if you think so. But make it about something I do. The grittier, the dirtier, the worse I can look, the happier I am. It takes the pressure off.”
On overcoming nerves about playing Romeo: “[I thought] f-ck it, they’re choosing me because I can bring something fresh to it. Something in-the-moment and real, which is the spirit of Romeo, isn’t it?”
On falling asleep during a scene: “On the last shot of the day [for Noah] I fell asleep in bed,…I was meant to wake up, so suddenly I hear Darren [Aronofsky] screaming, ‘Douglas! Douglas! Are you really asleep?’ I told him I was just doing some Method acting. I hope he bought it.”
Douglas is also pictured below at the 2013 BAFTAs WilliamVintage dinner held at St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel in London on Friday night (February 8).
