When Everything Sucks was cancelled by Netflix earlier this year, no one was happy about it – not the cast or creators, and especially not the fans.
The show was axed after only one season on the streaming service and we’re finally finding out just why there will only be one season.
“I’m really passionate about the show myself,” Netflix VP original content Cindy Holland shared with Deadline over the weekend. “We take the cancellation decisions as personally as anybody.”
So, what was the reason? Although the audience was “passionate”, the numbers just weren’t there for a second season.
“We were seeing a much low completion rate of the whole season, [and] we realized that it is very unlikely that we would be able to grow the audience, move a whole new audience through the show and have a large enough audience to justify a season 2,” she added.
