Tonight is the final season premiere of iZombie and we are having some feelings about it all.
Rose McIver opened up in an interview with SyFy about the final season, what she’s feeling and what you should expect in the upcoming episodes.
“My feeling is that in Season 5, like I think in some shows, you can coast a little more when you know the character and you know what you are doing,” Rose says of playing Liv. “I have found, for me, each season gets harder because it’s trying to mine something more. I certainly can’t relax into knowing Liv at this point.”
“I give that to the writers, as well, and to everybody involved in the show and how they handle the brains. There’s a lot of excavation.”
That being said, Rose adds that she feels like she’s “worked harder this season than I’ve ever worked on a show before. And just to keep it new and original. I feel like it’s really worked, and it’s paid off.”
“I’m more excited for this season than I have been for any in terms of the new layers we see in people. One of my favorite things is Malcolm [Goodwin]‘s humor this season. Clive Babineaux has always been funny, but he leans into it this year in a way that I’m like, ‘Hats off to Malcolm.’ He really does a great job. And he directs an episode, just casually. The overachiever award goes to Malcolm.”
