Mortal Instruments fans — meet your Simon!
“City of Bones” author Cassandra Clare announced earlier this week that Robert Sheehan would will the shoes of Simon, Clary’s oldest friend.
“He’s totally cute and adorable and HILARIOUS, and his chemistry with Lily [Collins] and Jamie [Campbell Bower] is off the charts,” she wrote. “I’ve wanted him for Simon for ages so I am pretty much totally and entirely happy.”
Simon has harbored a secret crush on Clary for a long time, as well as Isabelle who will be played by Jemima West.

Lily Collins is all smiles while out holding hands with her rumored new boyfriend Jamie Campbell Bower as they head to a local cafe together on Monday (July 9) in Toronto, Canada.
The 23-year-old actress and Jamie, also 23, are currently up north filming their latest flick The Mortal Instruments, which is set to be released next August.

Bonnie Wright and Jamie Campbell Bower have split after being engaged for over a year, JustJaredJr.com can confirm.
The 23-year-old actor and the 21-year-old actress met on the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 1 in 2010. Jamie played the role of Gellert Grindelwald while Bonnie played Ginny Weasley.
“They have split but it is amicable,” a source told the Daily Mail, with Jamie adding he is “heartbroken”.
Jamie is also known for playing the role of Caius in The Twilight Saga while Bonnie is currently at work on Shakespeare’s Daughter.

Bonnie Wright arrives at the 2012 Jameson Empire Awards held at Grosvenor House on Sunday evening (March 25) in London.
The 19-year-old actress was joined by Evanna Lynch and Matthew Lewis at the ceremony where Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II took home Best Film.
David Yates also took home the trophy for Best Director.
While Bonnie was nominated for Best Female Newcomer, she lost out to Felicity Jones.

Good news, Mortal Instruments fans — the flick just got a new director!
After hearing that the page-to-big-screen adaption was in a bit of a bind, Constantin Film and Unique Features announced that Harald Zwart has signed on as the new director.
In the first tale of the book series by Cassandra Clare, in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother, Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.
“Harald Zwart really understands the visuals and heart of The Mortal Instruments. That was crucial to us. Of course, having Cassandra Clare’s support throughout and collaborating with her on this project has been especially rewarding,” says producer Robert Kulzer in a statement via Deadline.
Jamie Campbell Bower also stars and principal photography is expected to begin August 15 in Toronto.

According to THR, Screen Gems, the studio set to produce the big-screen adaptation of Cassandra Clare‘s Mortal Instruments has pulled out of the project.
Director Scott Stewart is also out of the project, but Ms. Clare says not to worry.
She writes on her official site, “Really, this makes no difference to anything. I know words like ‘dropped’ sound shocking and horrifying but in this context, it doesn’t mean much. I talked to Constantin [Film] last week and actually gave them a list of actors I liked for Simon (because why not?), and they gave me a schedule they expected to start filming by (August.)”

Recently spotted out at the London Evening Standard British Film Awards 2012, Bonnie told the Telegraph that her transition from Ginny Weasley was easy.
“I was worried at first that it was going to be impossible to shake off the Harry Potter associations, but it has just happened, really naturally,” she shared.
