“We are thrilled that DNCE will be performing at this year’s National Dinner, and are grateful to have the support of Joe Jonas and the entire band,” HRC President Chad Griffin said ahead of the event. “We couldn’t be more excited to have DNCE cap off this incredible night in support of LGBTQ equality.”
The event was held in partnership with the Infinite Hero Foundation, which helps combat the most difficult frontline issues – both mental and physical – that face returning military heroes and their families, and funds programs that drive innovation and the accessibility of effective treatments dealing with service-related mental and physical injuries.

The band chatted with the mag about their musical influences and how they’re taking over Apple and the iPhone!
On who influences them: “We’re attracted to heroes, not only in music, but in art. There are people who have their own universes [like Prince], and Prince is someone like David Bowie or Grace Jones or Miles Davis or Dolly Parton. That is a universe. They’re not a musician, they’re not an actor, they’re not a designer, they’re a world and you witness their world for an hour, it can change your whole life.”
On typos: “Siri’s f–ked because every time you type in ‘dance,’ she corrects it to ‘DNCE.’ It’s our little stance in the universe. There’s not another word like it and it’s ours.”
