Ryan Sheckler is all smiles as he serves up meals at the Los Angeles Mission Easter event held at the Los Angeles Mission on Friday (April 3) in Los Angeles.
The 25-year-old pro athlete and activist joined The Messengers‘ Joel Courtney and Brooke Sorenson at the annual event.
All of the homeless who came to the event were given a gourmet meal and afterwards, their feet were washed, medically examined and each one received new socks and new etniessm shoes. All of the children were also given Easter baskets full of goodies and special seasonal treats at the gathering.
This year’s menu included: 1,900 pounds ham with 20 gallons of of orange marmalade and ginger glaze, 500 pounds of macaroni and 600 pounds of cheese with bacon bits and green onions, and 700 pounds of fresh broccoli and 700 pounds of fresh cauliflower with garlic butter. The meal was complemented with 3,500 dinner rolls and butter and a dessert of nearly 450 delicious pecan pies. That’s a lot of food!

The 24-year-old pro skateboarder is one of three athletes that Gillette recruited for the #BodyReady campaign, which helps men tackle their body hair with precision, accuracy, and ease. Olympian Phil Dalhausser and CrossFit champ Jason Khalipa also rep the campaign.
“With summer around the corner, it’s all about working out, training, and getting fit,” Ryan shared in a statement. “The opportunity to partner with Gillette BODY and potentially having a fan hang out and train with me is really exciting.”

The event raised over raised over $200,000.

The 22-year-old athlete and philanthropist met with excited fans, signed autographs and accepted a $10,000 donation for The Sheckler Foundation, which helps enrich the lives of children and injured action sports athletes.
“Boston Market is one of my favorite places to sit back and enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family. Today was a huge step forward for my charity. With Boston Market’s donation, we hope to help the many injured action sports athletes on their road to recovery,” Ryan shared in a statement.
Event attendees were also treated to giveaways and even received popular menu items and soft drinks, courtesy of Boston Market.
Ryan also presented George Michel with a custom, autographed skateboard to thank Boston Market for its generous donation to The Sheckler Foundation.
