Selena Gomez Jokes About Her Met Gala Look at Puma Defy Sneaker Launch!

Selena Gomez visits Puma Defy City to debut the new Puma Defy sneaker collection!

The “Wolves” crooner attended the event at Paramount Studios on Wednesday (May 16) in Los Angeles.

The launch defied all aspects of a modern city with a laundromat that doesn’t eat socks, a balloon-filled gym with dancers choreographing Selena’s “Back To You,” a bodega with all-you-can-eat candy, a 3D chalk mural, and more.

Selena, who officially opened the city, showed off her Defys while hanging out with fans.

When one fan yelled, “You look beautiful!” Selena replied with, “Thank you so much. I fixed it from Met Gala!” LOL.

The Defy was exclusively available for guests to shop in advance of its May 31 drop, when it will be available for purchase at Puma.com and at selected retailers worldwide.

Selena Gomez Isn't Trying to 'Glorify Anything' With '13 Reasons Why'

Selena Gomez Isn't Trying to 'Glorify Anything' With '13 Reasons Why'

13 Reasons Why will be back in just a week on Netflix, and executive producer Selena Gomez is opening up about the show’s legacy.

In her interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, the 25-year-old entertainer dished about her new song that’s included on the soundtrack and all about season two.

“I just think that what I learned more than anything is just how making an impact can look differently,” Selena shared about the show going forward. “I think what we’re doing and what we’ve always wanted to talk about was genuinely just to care about people and to get it out in that certain way.”

She adds, “…nobody is trying to desensitize it. I think I just learned to be bold, to stand by what you believe in.”

Selena also opened up about some of the criticism of the show: “I’ve always viewed things as comfort is the enemy of progress. So I think when something makes that sort of noise, it’s either two reasons. It’s either so foul or it’s amazing. And I think that’s when you get people to wake up. I don’t do it to glorify anything.”

“This is what happens and I’m sorry if you can’t — this is real life and I’ve had numerous parents and kids come up to me. How it’s just opened the door for healthy communication and that’s all you want. You know, we’re not going to end these certain things or try to break through it unless we take those risks.”

Selena Gomez is getting back into music!

The 24-year-old pop star, who just released “Back To You” from the soundtrack of Season 2 of 13 Reasons Why, opened up to Zane Lowe for Beats 1 radio on Thursday (May 10).

“I have so many exciting things coming. It just feels like it’s my time and it’s at my pace. I’m not trying to like throw a bunch of music in people’s faces until I’m ready,” she told Zane.

“We’re also trying to figure out a fun way to take our time. There’s no date, there’s no idea for it, but I have a lot of music that I’ve collectively put away…this has been building for maybe two years. I was really happy with Revival, but at the same time I was terrified of doing another record.”

“Because for me, it could be like it was a step down, or I needed to beat that record, and I think every artist kind of struggles with that. So I waited. I wanted it to be great and had I not waited a good year or two I wouldn’t have had the best songs I’ve ever had,” she added.

She also gushed over working with Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter.

“I’d never met a writer, and it was two writers – it was Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels – and I had this instant soul connection with them. I just feel like they helped cultivate my sound. And it was because Julie and I are kind of similar in that way, and I’ve never had somebody pour into me. You know sometimes it’s just…this is a great song, record it, record it the way we want it and that’s it. She comes from a very bare, raw, natural place.”
