Sophie Simnett opts for a fun colorful print for the new Winter 2016 cover of Wonderland magazine.

The 19-year-old actress opens up to the glossy about her new Disney Channel show The Lodge. Check it:

On starring in a teen show: “Well it the show has all the classic aspects of Disney in it. And it’s a really local show, and engages with local issues. You have the musical aspect of it, too, which is really wonderful and always engaging. But my character goes through a lot: she’s dealing with the death of a mother, with the massive adjustment from moving from a big city to the countryside – a lot of aspects other teen shows don’t necessarily confront. There’s more to it.”

On being a female lead: “Well Skye is incredibly strong. I think my peers and I are very aware of feminism, it’s a very important topic. I mean, feminism defined is believing in equality in both genders, why isn’t that inherent? We have to embrace it and go with it. There’s such a massive group of supporters for these equal rights, you would hope people who didn’t believe it would see that and be like, ‘Oh, wait.’”

In the premiere episode, “New Girl,” 15-year-old Skye (Sophie Simnett) return with her father to North Star Lodge, the family-owned country hotel where her mother was raised years ago.

Eager to make a fresh start, Skye forges friendships with the locals who live and work at the lodge, but when she learns her father is planning to sell the place that holds so many treasured memories, she is determined to find a way to change his mind.

In the clip, Skye gets a ride to the lodge with handsome mountain-biker Sean (Thomas Doherty).

Then, in the second episode, “Reality Check,” Skye convinces her dad to hold off on selling the lodge and enlists the help of her new friends to give it a makeover.

Just days ahead of the premiere of the show on Disney Channel, the network has released the soundtrack on YouTube and JJJ can’t stop listening, the songs are so good!
