The 18-year-old actress opened up about her next big project, Jem & The Holograms, rocking orange hair and fashion. Check it:
On bonding with her Jem & The Holograms co-stars: “I have so many. I feel like I really gained three sisters—we grew so close. I think all of the performance scenes were my favorite for sure. You know, we would shoot for 12 hours straight, performing for 12 hours overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with full gear and everything in front of 500 people, so I really did feel like a rock star.”
On having orange hair: “I loved her fiery orange hair, and you know, I wore my hair down all the time so I could do hair flips and really just rock out. I had glitter everywhere, and my face was painted bright colors—pink, orange, red, yellow, green—and the outfits were rhinestoned head to toe with lots of leather and safety pins. We just looked so cool—it was awesome.”
On her next projects: “I’m actually going straight to Ireland right now to shoot a film with Pierce Brosnan, and I’m doing a sci-fi in Canada later this summer. And then other than that, I just shot a love story in November, which I’m really excited to have come out. I want to do another one for just like a simple love story, because everything I’ve been doing lately is intense and lots of crying and running away and trying to fight for my life. I wouldn’t mind just having a sweet love story for a while.”
On her style icons: “I love Lily Collins. I love her femininity and edge and how she mixes the two. I love Natalie Portman and her Miss Dior campaign—same thing with it being girlie and sweet with a rough side to it. Emma Watson has great style, and I also love Behati Prinsloo.”
Hayley, 24, wrote the track and co-directed the video with Austin S. Winchell and also stars model Hayden Thompson.
“Beyond the love story the video also has a theme of self-acceptance and standing firm for what we want and believe in. Whether you’re fighting yourself, your feelings, or the judgements of others; the despair, joy and relief felt when you’re true to yourself makes it all worthwhile,” Hayley shared about the vid.
She added on Instagram earlier, “Directed my first music video with my boy @acewinch. Collaborating with these two ladybugs in #glg music video was the coolest thing ever. They did such an honest job, I am so excited for you to see it. #glg #comingsoon #musicvideo #hayleykiyoko #premiere.”
The 18-year-old Insidious Chapter 3 actress recently chatted with BuzzFeed about furthering career and was quoted as saying, “It’s not that I wouldn’t do projects that are edgy, but I think the project has to have purpose and meaning and tell a real story and not just be me topless at spring break smoking. I really think the universe worked it all out for me … because I got to show emotions instead of boobs.”
After some read that as a diss against Selena, Stefanie was quick to clear it all up.
“I would like to start by saying I would never throw shade at anyone, especially Selena Gomez in that matter. I’m a huge fan of Selena and her work and have always been inspired by her and her authenticity,” she wrote in a Twitter post.
“The article simply talks about my love for acting and the next chapter of my life and career while living in my truth. Also, I have nothing but love and gratitude for Disney Channel for making my little girl self’s dream come true.”
Selena is also pictured arriving for a radio interview at 97.1 AMP Radio studios in Los Angeles and just shared a little sneak peek of her new single, “Good For You”. Check it out below!
