OlderNina Dobrev's 'TVD' Exit - How Will Elena's Story End? See Fan Theories & Take Our Poll!
As soon as Nina Dobrev shockingly announced that she was leaving The Vampire Diaries, fans started speculating what would happen to her character Elena at the end of this season.
There are many ways this could play out. Right now, her boyfriend Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is in possession of the cure, which we all know Elena once wanted. Will she take it and go off and live her life as a human? Or will she tragically die a human after taking it?
The other option is that she dies a vampire (by getting her heart ripped out or getting staked), most likely protecting Damon or someone she loves. Because well, we know how Elena is.
The last potential story we could think of is that she leaves Mystic Falls forever, like her brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). But we can’t really picture her leaving Damon behind, so that’s the least likely scenario in our minds.
