Saoirse Ronan Reveals How She Picks Which Movies She Stars In: 'I've Always Had A Good Sense of What I Wanted'

Saoirse Ronan stuns on the new cover of AnOther magazine’s Spring/Summer 2018 issue.

The Lady Bird actress opened up with the glossy about just how she chooses her movie roles and which of her flicks ignited her passion for film.

“In terms of [the film that made] me take acting seriously enough to pursue it as a career, it was Atonement,” she says. “Because it had so much gravity to it, the work was so good.”

Saoirse reveals that there was another movie she could’ve taken too, at the same time: “I’d also auditioned for this action film, which would have paid a lot more and could have been a big commercial success or whatever, and it was up to me to decide which one I was going to do, and I chose Atonement.”

As for picking and choosing her movies, “my parents always left it down to me,” Saoirse says. “I’ve always had a good sense of what I wanted work-wise and otherwise, a good sense of what was right for me.”
