Zendaya Responds To Those 'Little Mermaid' Casting Rumors

A while back there was a rumor that Zendaya was slated to play Ariel in a live action remake of The Little Mermaid.

Now, the 22-year-old actress is responding to the claims – and it’s not what you wanted to hear.

“I loved The Little Mermaid. It is honestly one of my favorite movies of all time. I was obsessed with it when I was a little kid,” she told People recently.

However, that casting rumor is “just a rumor, so we will see.”

Zendaya added about the roles that she was looking at and for in her future: “I am an actor, I just like good roles. Things I can soak into and really sink my teeth into. I always try to find characters that I can find some human connection to.”

Here’s hoping that we get a confirmation on this role for her though, because we would be buying out theaters for it.
