Gaten Matarazzo to Return to Broadway In 'Dear Evan Hansen' This Summer!

Gaten Matarazzo is marking his Broadway return!!

It was just announced on Wednesday (May 25) that the 19-year-old Stranger Things star will join the cast of Dear Evan Hansen at the Music Box Theatre.

Gaten is set to take over the role of Jared Kleinman, following Jared Goldsmith, who is currently in the role.

“Words could never express how truly honored I am to be a part of this company,” Gaten shared in a statement. “This show has taught me so much about myself and to be able to participate in any capacity, let alone on Broadway, makes me want to melt. I am ecstatic to be back on stage and eternally grateful for the opportunity.”

Gaten‘s first performance will be on July 19, 2022, two days after Jared‘s exit.

Returning to the DEH cast are Ann Sanders as Cynthia Murphy, and from the tour cast, Noah Kieserman as Connor Murphy and Ciara Alyse Harris as Alana Beck.

If you didn’t know, Gaten is no stranger to the Great White Way. He made his Broadway debut in 2011 in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and has also appeared in Godspell in 2013 and the 2014 revival of Les Misérables!
