Christopher Briney Admits He Was 'Stressed Out' About Singing in 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Season 2

WARNING: This post contains small spoilers for The Summer I Turned Pretty season two!

Christopher Briney is opening up about his singing in the second season of the Prime Video series adaptation of Jenny Han‘s popular YA book series.

Check out what he said inside…

In the third episode, during a flashback scene at Susannah’s funeral, Christopher‘s Conrad goes up to the front, grabs a guitar and performs a little song for his late mom.

During a recent appearance on the Chicks in the Office podcast, Christopher opened up about the scene and how he was stressed out about it.

“That stressed me out. I didn’t want to do it,” he admitted. “No, I don’t [have a singing background]. I really don’t, and I was really nervous about it. But I was talking to Jenny about it and I was talking to this dude, who sort of helped me figure out how to play guitar, and we’re talking about that moment, and I was like I wanted it to be good. Because I don’t sing, I think I wanted to sing really well, then I was like wait, but why would Conrad sing? He’s not a choir boy. He’s just singing.”

“I was trying to be like he isn’t a singer, he’s just doing this for someone,” he added. “He’s trying to do something right.”

If you missed it, the first three episodes are out NOW, with new episodes coming weekly on Fridays on Prime Video.

There’s at least one person you won’t be seeing in season two…
