Police Reveal Details on Christina Grimmie's Death & Her Killer
More details surrounding the shocking death of Christina Grimmie have been revealed by the Orlando police.
Authorities believe that the man who killed the 22-year-old singer traveled to Orlando specifically to murder Christina, who was shot while greeting fans at her concert on Friday night (June 10). Her brother Marcus heroically tackled the gunman, who was able to free himself to commit suicide on the scene.
The suspect who shot Christina is a 27-year-old white male and was not local to Orlando. He was armed with two handguns and a hunting knife.
Police believe that the man traveled to Orlando specifically to kill Christina and that he planned on going back to his home after he committed the heinous crime. Authorities are currently looking at his phone and other electronics to see if they can find a motive, but as of now, no connection between the victim and the suspect have been found.
The name of the shooter will be released in a few hours. It is being withheld to give authorities time to search through his home and electronics.
