'The Selection' Movie Nabs 'Me Before You' Director Thea Sharrock
The big screen adaption of The Selection just scored a director!
Thea Sharrock, who is fresh off of Me Before You, will helm the movie based on Kiera Cass’s future novel.
Set 300 years in the future, “The Selection” is billed as an epic romance centering on a working class young woman chosen by lottery to participate in a competition with 25 other ladies for Prince Maxon’s hand to become the nation’s next queen.
The book went through several reincarnations at The CW, first casting Aimee Teegarden, William Moseley and Ethan Peck before a re-worked pilot with Yael Grobglas, Lucien Laviscount and Michael Malarkey.
The network passed on it altogether in 2013.
So, what does adding a director mean for the #SelectionMovie? It means we're one step closer. And I'm happy with the choice…
