Jimmy Liu, Sydney Taylor and Ben Wang snap a group photo while attending the premiere of their upcoming Disney+ series American Born Chinese held at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday (May 7) in New York City.

The young stars of the show were joined by their older cast mates Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan (with wife Echo), Chin Han, Yeo Yann Yann, Daniel Wu and Leonard Wu, as well as writer Gene Luen Yang, who’s graphic novel the series is based off of.

Also in attendance was Alex Aiono, who showed support for Melvin Mar, who executive producers his show Doogie Kamealoha, MD and American Born Chinese, and Alexa Swinton, with her sister Ava and mom Inna.

American Born Chinese chronicles the trials and tribulations of a regular American teenager whose life is forever changed when he befriends the son of a mythological god. This is the story of a young man’s battle for his own identity, told through family, comedy, and action-packed Kung-Fu.

Disney+ is setting two worlds on a collision course in the just-released trailer for their new series American Born Chinese.

Based on the graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang and directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton, the show features a star-studded cast including Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan.

The story centers on Jin Wang (Ben Wang), an average teenager who finds himself thrust into an unexpected situation after he’s introduced to Wei-Chen (Jimmy Liu), a new foreign student at his school. Jin winds up in the middle of a battle between Chinese mythological gods!

The premiere date for the upcoming new series American Born Chinese has finally been revealed!

Disney+ dropped the news on Oscars Sunday, with a new TV spot highlighting the Oscar-nominated cast.

Michelle Yeoh, who just won Best Actress, and Ke Huy Quan, who won Best Supporting Actor, both star in the upcoming series, and their Oscar-nominated Everything Everywhere All at Once co-star Stephanie Hsu will be a guest star on the show.

If you missed it, Everything Everywhere All at Once won seven of the eleven awards they were nominated for, and is the most awarded movie of all time!

Bloom Li is surrounded by his castmates at the premiere of the new Disney+ film Chang Can Dunk!

The newcomer walked the carpet with Dexter Darden, Ben Wang, Chase Liefield, Zoe Renee, Mardy Ma, and Eric Anthony Lopez on Monday night (March 6) in Burbank, Calif.

Also at the premiere were writer and directer Jingyi Shao plus producers Lena Waithe and Rishi Rajani.

Chang Can Dunk follows Chang, a 16-year-old, Asian American high school student in the marching band, who bets the school basketball star that he can dunk by Homecoming. The bet leads the 5 ’8″ Chang on a quest to find the hops he needs to dunk in order to impress his crush, Kristy, and finally gain the attention and respect of his high school peers. But before he can rise up and truly throw one down, he’ll have to reexamine everything he knows about himself, his friendships and his family.

The film will be streaming on Disney+ on March 10.

Disney+ has finally released the first trailer for the upcoming movie Chang Can Dunk!

The streaming service teased the film wrapped with a first look photo way back in December 2021, and it’s finally about to be here.

“This movie is my love letter to basketball and about how it helped me better understand family, friendship and the Asian American/immigrant experience, about growing up and taking responsibility even when the odds are against you, and about learning to believe in yourself and break through not only the barriers set by others but more importantly, the barriers set by YOURSELF,” writer/director Jingyo Shao, who makes his feature film debut with this movie, shared in a statement.

Ben Wang and Jimmy Liu get into character in first look pics for their upcoming Disney+ series American Born Chinese.

The series will be directed by Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton and is based on the graphic novel series of the same name by creator Gene Luen Yan.

Ben takes the lead in the series, playing Jin Wang. He’ll share the screen with the likes of Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Wuan, Daniel Wu and Yeo Yann Yann.

Aside from Ben and Jimmy, you can also see Michelle, Daniel and Quan in the first look pics!

American Born Chinse will premiere on Disney+ in the spring of 2023. We’ll be sure to let you know once an official premiere date is announced!

Disney+ is offering fans a first look at it’s new series American Born Chinese!

The series was picked up back in October 2021 from Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton.
