Chris Colfer stops by AOL Build to chat about his brand new book, “The Land of Stories: An Author’s Odyssey” in New York City on Tuesday afternoon (July 12).
The 26-year-old actor and author spoke about his new book and putting acting on the sidelines for the moment.
“It used to be all about Glee. Now it’s all kids, running up to me and telling me how much they love the books and what they want to happen. Sometimes they have really good points,” he shared about how his fanbase changed. “I was really worried that the crowds would dissipate when the show ended. They’ve only grown and grown.”
Chris added about putting acting on the side, “If something great comes along, fantastic. I still make it a priority. But books are my number one priority right now. It’s storytelling. Acting and writing are two different forms of storytelling. We’re addicted to helping people escape their day to day life.”
Chris also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Today earlier in the week.

Chris Colfer steps out for Goldie Hawn‘s Annual Goldie’s Love In For Kids event on Friday (May 6) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The 25-year-old author and former Glee star was joined at the event by Taylor Lautner.

If you missed the news, Chris has another “Land of Stories” book coming out this summer!
In “The Land of Stories: An Author’s Odyssey”, “Alex and Conner have traveled into the realms of fairy-tales and classic literature, but An Author’s Odyssey is their first adventure in a world created from their own imaginations,” Chris shared of the new tale.
The book is set to hits shelves July 12th.

Chris Colfer sits down with Larry King on the Larry King Live show to discuss what he’s been up to since the end of Glee.
The 25-year-old actor filled in King on his latest projects, his famous co-stars, and his book series, The Land of Stories.

In addition to his New York Times best-selling series, Chris discussed how excited he is to be apart of Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie.
Much like the series, Ab Fab is about two glamorous women that become entangled in a media frenzy after being blamed for an unfortunate incident at a fashion party.
“It’s genius. It’s like the bible,” he said. “”I’m playing Jennifer Saunders hairdresser-slash-social media consultant and I’m very excited about that because Jennifer Saunders is one of my heros. I can’t believe she wrote the part for me.”

Chris Colfer is joined by his boyfriend Will Sherrod while dressing up as the flying monkeys form Wizard of Oz at Matthew Morrison’s 6th Annual Halloween Masquerade Ball on Saturday night (October 24) at Hyde in West Hollywood, Calif.
Nina Dobrev was also at the party dressed up as Posh Spice alongside her friends, who were dressed as the rest of the Spice Girls. Chris‘ former Glee co-star Ashley Fink joined him as the Wicked Witch of the West.
Other celebs in attendance included Colton Haynes as Ursula, Sarah Hyland as Sexy Kitty, JC Chasez as a mime, David Furnish as Trojan, Nash Overstreet as Mario/Yoshi, Ashley Madekwe as a junkie, and Christa B. Allen as the American Beauty rose girl.
Matthew Morrison was not able to attend the party as he is currently starring on Broadway, so he sent the below video message. The party was put together by Podwall Entertainment.

The 25-year-old Glee star just debuted the cover to his two upcoming novels – “Queen Red Riding Hood’s Guide to Royalty” and “The Mother Goose Diaries.”

Chris Colfer hits up Barnes and Noble for a book signing at The Grove in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon (July 18).
Just a few days earlier, the 25-year-old actor and author had the best reaction to finding out his book series, “The Land of Stories”, had hit #1 on the New York Times Best Selling list.
“Someone pinch me… #TheLandofStories is now a #1 New York Times Best Selling SERIES! I can’t thank you all enough!” Chris wrote on Instagram.
He added with a modified pic, “My reaction to the news… Didn’t even see @aplotkin716 had her phone out! Feeling so blessed today. #TLOS”
Chris Colfer exits from the SiriusXM studios after chatting up his new book, “The Land of Stories: Beyond The Kingdom” in New York City on Tuesday morning (July 7).
“Can’t believe #TLOS4 comes out tomorrow!!! Hope you guys like it! See you on @GMA tomorrow morning!!!” the 25-year-old actor and author wrote on Twitter just the day before with a ton of excitement.
