'Girl Meets World' Creator Says There are 'Talks' To Keep the Show on the Air!

'Girl Meets World' Creator Says There are 'Talks' To Keep the Show on the Air!

The fans voices do matter — and this entire post is proof!

It looks like Girl Meets World could continue on, according to Michael Jacobsnew interview.

“There are talks underway, but we’re at the very very beginning stages,” the series creator shared. “And I can tell you it’s because of the audience’s reaction to the cancellation that there is interest in other places.”

He adds, “For anyone in show business, if you ask them why they’re doing something and they say they’re doing it for themselves, they won’t sustain long. Those that answer ‘We’re doing it for the audience’ and mean it, they sustain.”

One campaign that Mr. Jacobs pointed out to save the show was the paper airplane campaign, which started on Tumblr.

“Networks want to do something to gather an audience. The fact that there is an audience who’s been so loyal says a lot.”

Rider Strong Gets Real About 'Girl Meets World' Cancellation

Rider Strong opens up about Girl Meets World in this new interview.

The former Boy Meets World star, who guest-starred on a bunch of episodes, was asked about the show’s cancellation during the Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show podcast.

“I think what Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World tapped into is that there’s actually a huge segment of that age group, you know the target age group from 8 all the way up to 16ish, that is very melodramatic and that does see life as ‘It’s all fun,’ and then the rug gets pulled out from under you,” Rider said (via TVLine.com).

He continued, “I think Michael [Jacobs, creator], to his credit, really wrote well for that [age group], and he still does. We’ve had some very dramatic episodes [of Girl Meets World]. I don’t think as dramatic as Boy, mostly because we’re on Disney Channel and they won’t allow us to. I think had Michael had his way, Girl Meets World would have swung just as extreme.”

“When you do a tonal shift like that – I think Boy Meets World missed the mark almost as often as it nailed the mark, honestly – for some people that tonal shift will never work,” Rider added.
