HRVY steps out for the 2018 Capital Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium over the weekend in London, England.
The 19-year-old musician just recently opened up about how his new collaboration with Malu, “Hasta Luego”, came about.
“We wrote it whilst it was really raining in the UK, and we wanted like a summer vibe, because it was so depressing, cold and rainy,” HRVY shared.
He continues, “So we thought of summer and Spain, Latin America and stuff like that. We only knew the words ‘te amo,’ ‘hasta luego’ and ‘cómo estás.’ We were trying to pick it out of the three and we picked ‘hasta luego’ because it was a bit different.”
As for how Malu came on board, it was as easy as picking up the phone.
“She’s one of my good friends, so I just dropped her a text. I was like, ‘Do you wanna be on this song?’ and she was like, ‘No worries!’ So it was really nice and organic.”
The 19-year-old singer joins Cuban-American srtist Malu for the tropical track “Hasta Luego“.
“ITS OUT NOW! MY SINGLE IS OUT RIGHT NOW!!! HASTA LUEGO;))))))) love you guys,” he tweeted, with fire emojis.
He also encouraged everyone to spread the word, writing, “morning team, let’s all work together today and harass our friends at school or work to get hasta, if you don’t have friends that’s cool, just make random people get it … I’ve already got half the hotel lobby downloading it … 1 = 1 point.”
HRVY and Malu not only released the song, but they also dropped a fun, dance filled music video. Check it out below!
Muser HRVY heads out of BBC’s Radio 2 studios after an interview in London on Friday (February 9).
The musician recently opened up with Metro about his evolving sound and how his brand new track, “Personal” came about.
“We were in the studio and one of our friends played the hook of a song and I loved it,” HRVY, born Harvey Cantwell, shared about the song.
He continues, “The hook was ‘don’t take it personal’ and I was like ‘I need this song, I love this chorus’. We messed around with the versus and pre chorus, changed the lyrics, changed the melody, and then reproduced it slightly…the tag had already come up and I was like I need this song.”
But as much as we all love the sound of “Personal”, HRVY says his sound changes daily.
“I think my songs are getting slightly more mature, but they’re fun,” he shared. “They might change depending on how I feel but I don’t really know my sound, my sound is kind of whatever I feel like on the day.”
