Alyson Stoner often releases dance videos to popular songs on her channel, but this week she decided to shake things up with special guests and a hilarious mock movie.
In a new Youtube video entitled “If Life Were a Dance Movie,” the dancer and singer reunites with some former Step Up co-stars and other famous dancers to joke about the formulaic nature of dance movies.
“They meet. They fall in love and know the same dance. Conflict. Unnecessary dance battle. The villain returns. The final battle. Inconsequential victory.”
The “movie” also involves Alyson losing her male lead, and a dancer who can’t speak because his only role is to be a dancer.
“We get asked all the time by fans to do a reunion and when we heard about Channing and Jenna‘s [Tatum] show, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to put together something fun with a sense of humor about ourselves,” Alyson said.
“Dance is still so popular and has evolved over the past decade since the first Step Up, so I brought in the new digital generation to pass the torch, but also say the OGs are still here and thriving.”
Tonight, you will be absolutely blown away by Ian Eastwoodand The Young Lions‘ talent on NBC’s World of Dance.
Ahead of the show, Ian and the Young Lions put together a fun video introducing themselves. You’ll get to meet Connor Gormley, Trevor Takemoto, Jordan Viscomi, Anthony Westlake and Bong Buno in the video below.
“All the sudden, this talk felt like this show would be something different, we could really be ourselves, we could be free of challenges, free of stupid song choices that you have to pretend your crew picked etc,” Ian tells his fans in the notes section of the video.
He adds, “We could go out there and just do our thing…and that’s something I really connected with…just going out there and being who we are.”
World of Dance airs TONIGHT @ 10PM ET/PT on NBC.
